Plot
While searching an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonists come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. See how the films of the “Alien” franchise are rated according to the ratings of IMDb users. Director Federico Alvarez turned to the special effects team from Alien 2 (1986) to work on the creatures. As a big fan of the original, I left disappointed
To be honest, I had no emotional attachment to most of the characters, and most of them were just annoying and dumb. The film was bland at times, seemed to take forever to get going, and relied too heavily on the clichés of the Alien franchise to add any real flavor to the plot and script. The special effects were pretty good, and the design of the original xenomorph was excellent, although the facelifts in this movie look worse than in Alien and Aliens for some reason. Don’t get too excited by the current hype surrounding Romulus, it’s not a terrible movie, but it’s not great either.
